Hamid Rahmanian, Song of the North

Song of the North tells the tale of Manijeh, a courageous heroine from ancient Persia, who must rescue her beloved and help prevent a war. This epic love story (which is family-friendly for ages 7 and up) employs a cast of 500 handmade puppets, projected animation, and an ensemble of nine actors and puppeteers, weaving art and storytelling into a spectacular multimedia reimagining of a classic Persian tale.

Hamid Rahmanian is an Iranian-American artist, filmmaker, and graphic designer. He is best known for his award-winning documentary film The Glass House and his illustrated book Shahnameh: The Epic of the Persian Kings. Rahmanian's work explores themes of identity, culture, and history, often drawing inspiration from Persian mythology and literature. He has exhibited his art internationally and received numerous accolades for his contributions to the arts. Stay after the curtain closes for a unique opportunity to learn more about the work.
